Consuelo “Connie” Hart, age 87, was called home to the Lord on June 16, 2012 at Grants Pass, Oregon because it was time.
Born January 2, 1925 to William & Catherine (Braan) Thater at San Francisco, California. Her parents and brothers, William, Paul and Keith, all predeceased her. She is survived by her closest companion, friend and husband, Murray; sister, Rose (Jim) Amai; children Sheilah (Fred) Castor; Jill (Andres) Alcantar; Rusty (Shelley) Jones; Karen Davis; Cathy (Richard) Webster; Kathy (Alan) Winship; and Jim (Lisa) Hart; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Mom has finally been rejoined with her two beloved sons, William Paul and Patrick Jonathan, who welcomed her into the presence of her Lord. During World War II, Mom served as an able seaman in the Merchant Marine, and in 1985 was designated a Veteran as a result of Congressional order. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1974 and from then lived her life to glorify Him. She and Murray were inseparable as they worked their jobs, raised their kids, volunteered at church, traveled throughout the country and celebrated life. In 2009 Connie and Murray moved from Santa Rosa to Grants Pass where Cathy and Richard shared their home with them, ensuring they were taken care of in the best ways possible.
Private inurnment will be held, followed by a committal ceremony at Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Oregon. A memorial service is being planned this summer for family and friends. Arrangements by Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, Grants Pass.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Connie’s memory, by check or online, to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 SE 8th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526 or their website www.lovejoyhospice.org.
Our Mom was an amazing Woman of God and prayer warrior whose greatest wish and surest comfort was the assurance that “…as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15. If a child couldn’t make that decision on his or her own, Mom simply prayed that child into the fold. She NEVER stopped believing. Thank you, Mom. We love you and will miss you every day but know we will all be Home together again.
