Connie Blakely

Connie graduated from Mineral County High School in Hawthorne (NV) in 1957 where George had also graduated and they began their relationship two years earlier.

Connie Blakely along with her husband George have lived in Cave Junction since winter of 2001. They retired from a 30-year pottery shop business in Calico Ghost Town in the Mojave Desert of CA. 

Connie and George enjoyed a memorable life together since being married in Hawthorne, NV in June 1957. They lived in Hawthorne (NV) birth of first son Craig, Del Paso Heights (CA), Malad City (ID), Tremonton (UT) birth of Jeff, Reno (NV) birth of Kevin, Hawthorne (NV) birth of last child Brian,Huntington Beach (CA), and Hawthorne (NV) while George was employed as a draftsman and general engineer and Connie was the homemaker. In October 1971, Connie and George made a change to showcase Connie’s artistic and creative talents for what was a household ceramics hobby to production and operation of a pottery shop in Calico Ghost Town (CA). They raised their family, operated the pottery shop including having Janet Jones as a business partner for more than 15 years, and enjoyed sharing life with the Jones and the Posey’s while living in Calico, Lenwood (CA), Yermo (CA) before leaving Calico Ghost Town to retire in Cave Junction (OR).

Connie was active in the Cave Junction community through the Illinois Valley Garden Club, and an ardent supporter of the Josephine Community Library.
