Charles Vernon Cobern, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, July 3, 2008 at his home.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Hull & Hull Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the memorial service at the American Legion Hall, 206 NW F St., Grants Pass.
Charles was born January 12, 1921 in Tatum, New Mexico and was raised there. He served his country in “counter-intelligence” during World War II. He eventually settled in San Diego, where he married Bonnie Copeland, who preceded him in death. He lived in Grants Pass for the last 20 years with his long time companion Vivian Pindergrass.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the American Legion both in Grants Pass.
In addition to his companion Vivian Pindergrass of Grants Pass; survivors include his three daughters, Karen Leomo, Charlene Larson and Carol Boardway and their spouses; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
