Charles Louis “Chuck” Marsh, age 77, of Merlin, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
A visitation will be at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. A memorial service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Charles Miller conducting. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Chuck was born March 1, 1933 in Lynn, Massachusetts to Charles & Edna Marsh. On April 14, 1953 he joined the United States Army where he met his wife, Nancy Ann Marshall. They were married on February 4, 1956. In 1997 he moved from Buena Park, California to Merlin.
He was a member of the NRA, Josephine County Sportmen’s Association, and Wild River Airgun Shooters.
He played “Santa” to the neighborhood children for many years.
Chuck loved Jesus and his country. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved his family, friends, shooting, hunting, fishing, his dog, Mandi and Nancy’s cooking. He was a world champion archer and shooter, enjoyed woodworking, studying mathematics, science, history and engineering. He had a great thirst for knowledge, often referred to as “the smartest guy you’ll ever meet.” He was smarter than the average bear. One of his favorite quotes was from Albert Einstein. “Great Spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Marsh of Merlin; three daughters, Virginia E. Robertson of Quinault, Washington, Cynthia L. Miller of Mauriceville, Texas and Patricia L. Bush of Manzanita, Oregon; a son-in-law, Ronald D. Henderson of San Diego, California; a sister, Jackie Levins and a brother Roderick Leon Marsh; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann Henderson.
