Charles Edward Comyford, age 67, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his home.
A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Edgewater Christian Fellowship. A potluck will immediately follow. Private interment was held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Remembrances may be made to Edgewater Christian Fellowship.
Charlie was born August 31, 1945 in Raton, New Mexico to James & Lois Comyford. As a toddler, he moved with his family to Vale, Oregon where he grew up as a dairy farmer/rancher with his five siblings. On January 31, 1970 he married Doloris Cranmer. In 1973 they moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where they settled and raised their family. Charlie was employed by Grants Pass Sanitation (Allied Waste) as a mechanic where he retired from in 2010 after 35 years of dedicated service.
Charlie enjoyed and was talented at metal fabricating, welding and mechanics. He most of all enjoyed his family and everything about being a Grandpa.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Doloris; two sons, JP (Andrea) Comyford and Wade (Shawna) Comyford all of Grants Pass, Oregon; daughter, Carrie Murphy of Vale, Oregon; seven grandchildren that were his pride and joy, K.C., Joey, Emily, Hunter, McKenzie, Cole, and Chase Comyford all of Grants Pass; a sister, Loretta Cooper; and two brothers, George Comyford and Jerry Comyford all of Vale.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Hazel Long; and a brother, James Comyford Jr.
