Carroll G. Hively, 77, of Merlin, died Monday, December 17, 2007 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Rick Gilmore officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
He was born on January 4, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Lloyd M. & Audra M. (Blundell) Hively. The family moved several times before settling in South Gate, California where he graduated from South Gate High School in 1947. He continued his education and apprenticeship to be a journeyman electrician through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and graduated in the top of his class. He was awarded a watch and an award from Governor Goodwin Knight, the governor of California. He retired in December 1984 and moved to Long Beach, California for a couple of years, before coming to the Grants Pass area.
He played the piano for the South Gate Four Square Church.
He enjoyed playing the piano, riding motorcycles and camping.
Survivors include his wife Lillian Hively of Merlin; two sons, John Hively of Yorba Linda, California; and Robert Hively of Garden Valley, California; two daughters, Deborah Hively of Lancaster, California; and Pamela Webb of Grants Pass; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
