Carroll A. Godec, age 71, of Grants Pass, died February 17, 2019 at her home.
Carroll was born October 18, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Grove City, Ohio High School and attended the University of Texas, Arlington. She worked in banking and credit unions as an all-around teller and account manager. She also worked as a bookkeeper for a general contractor.
On March 9, 1968 in Chanhassen, Minnesota Carroll married Jim Godec. Jim and Carroll’s older brother, Mike Croushore, served in the Army together stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. Jim and Carroll met when Jim was Mike’s best man at his wedding and Carroll went to El Paso, Texas as his wife’s maid of honor. Carroll and Jim lived in Carson City, Nevada from 1985 to 2016 when they moved to Grants Pass, Oregon.
Carroll’s hobbies included bowling, gardening, crocheting, art, camping, fishing, reading, and cruise ship vacations. She coached girls’ softball and was a multi-league bowler.
She is survived by her husband Jim Godec of Grants Pass; daughter Diana Morgan of Las Vegas, Nevada; son Lance Godec of Grants Pass; three sisters Teresa Croushore of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Janet Smith of Boise, Idaho and Amy McCart of Crossville, Tennessee; two brothers Tom Croushore of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Mike Croushore of Grants Pass; two grandchildren Devin Morgan and Dylan Morgan; and a great-granddaughter Rayden Rose Standifer/Morgan.
Carroll was a great wife, best friend, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sorely missed by everyone.
Family services will be held. Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.
