Carl DeWayne “Wayne” Pruett, age 98, of Selma, died Monday, March 31, 2014 at his home.
No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Wayne was born March 11, 1916 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Charlie & Loy Pruett. During World War II he belonged to Civilian Conservation Corps. On October 4, 1936 in Des Arc, Arkansas he married Lorean Blanch Ward and in 1947 they moved to Oregon. Wayne worked in sawmills on the Oregon Coast and in the Willamette Valley and Rogue Valley, retiring in 1978. He moved from Rogue River to Selma nine years ago.
His hobbies included camping, hunting, fishing, camp hosting, and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Fay Taylor and Joyce Ross both of Salem, Oregon; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Lorean B. Pruett; his parents, Charlie George Pruett and Addie Loy Elizabeth Pruett; two sisters, Ailene Simmons and Polly Baker and a brother, Buster Pruett.
