Burl J. Cox, age 90, of Grants Pass, died Friday, October 3, 2014 at Spring Village.
A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2014 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
Burl was born in Rush Springs, Oklahoma on June 30, 1924 to Lewis & Fanny Cox. On January 1, 1944 he married Eula Gilbert in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Around 1948 they moved to Selma, Oregon where Burl worked in the logging industry and he also worked for several years at White’s, Cabax and Rough & Ready Mills.
Burl enjoyed and was always faithful to visit people at local nursing homes and hospitals. He was a member of Church of God.
In addition to his wife Eula, he is survived by two sons, Larry and wife Dayle of Trinidad, West Indies and Charles of Phoenix, Oregon; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his sister Callie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters
