Quietly, on Saturday, April 25, Wendy Lynn 'Breeze' Heagney left this life, leaving family and friends devastated by the loss of such a beautiful, loving and strong woman.
Breeze was born in Downey, California and lived in the mountains of Wrightwood, California before moving to the Illinois Valley. She attended Rogue Community College and earned an A.S. Certificate in Medical Transcription. She worked locally at Rare Earth, the O.K. Corral, and for ten years at Grants Pass Medical Imaging. For the last twenty-two years she was employed by Three Rivers School District as the bookkeeper at North Valley High School.
Breeze married James Dunn in 1984 and, together, they lived in the Rogue Valley, amongst a vast number of dear and loving friends, until she decided she could give no more.
Over the years Breeze, had shown her love of wildlife, especially the local bird population. She actively supported the National Wildlife Federation, Defenders of Wildlife and raised thousands of dollars for her beloved Animals Asia Foundation.
Breeze is survived by her husband, James Dunn, of Grants Pass; her grandmother, Leota Ferguson, of Grants Pass; her mother, Alberta Heagney, of Cave Junction; her father, Edward T. Heagney, of Arizona; her uncle, Ron Kyler and his wife, Monica, of Grants Pass; her aunt, Sheila Heagney Savell, of Arizona; her aunt, Roberta Pollard Rappe, of Garden Grove, California; and her treasured kittie, Xero.
Breeze's family, friends and the world have lost a gentle, caring soul. Hopefully she is at peace.
Cremation and memorial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Animals Asia Foundation at www.animalsasia.org/.
