Brady Adams, age 70, of Grants Pass, died Monday, April 6, 2015 at his home.
Brady was born February 28, 1945 in Vanport, Oregon. He graduated from North Salem High School and Portland State University. In 1971 he moved to Grants Pass to take a job as a loan officer, and eventually became president of Evergreen Federal in 1988. A Republican, he was elected to the first of three terms in the Oregon Legislature in 1992. That service included four years as Senate president. He presided over the 1997 and 1999 Legislative sessions during a time when the Legislature convened only once every two years. Brady resumed his bank president duties after leaving the Oregon Senate.
Brady established the BearFest in 2003; followed by the musical Christmas murals, and other public art projects such as decorated doors and eagles. He was also key in establishing Evergreen Bank’s Bear Hotel. Adams had a role in restoring libraries to Josephine County by serving on the JCL board.
Survivors include his wife Patricia; son Ted; daughter Jennifer and a grandson.
A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Marjorie Holzgang Concert Bowl at Rogue Community College, Redwood Campus with Carl Wilson conducting. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
