Bobby Lee Minear, age 78, of Grants Pass, Oregon, died Monday, December 26, 2011 of natural causes at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
A viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2011 and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, 612 NW A Street, Grants Pass.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Hull and Hull Funeral Directors.
Bobby was born November 18, 1933 in Newton, Iowa one of six children born to John Minear & Gladys Good Minear. He graduated from Newton High School and attended college in Southern California. Bobby served in the United States Army in the 1950's and for many years worked as a Commercial Construction Supervisor. In 1989 he retired and moved from Redwood City, California to Grants Pass where he built his dream house, mostly by himself.
Bobby was an avid reader and had hundreds of books in his library.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Madelyn Renteria of Grants Pass, Oregon; numerous stepchildren, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Karmolete F. Leach of Grants Pass, Oregon; three brothers, David F. Minear, Gary A. Minear and George L. Minear all of Grants Pass, Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Gladys Minear, an older brother Junior D. Minear and two nephews, Andrew Minear and John Henry Minear.
