Bob Nicholson

Bob Nicholson, age 72, of Cave Junction, Oregon, died Monday, December 28, 2009 at his home.

No services are planned. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born Robert Clyde Nicholson June 6, 1937 in Clinton, Arkansas to Theodore & Ora Nicholson. On June 28, 1958 in Reno, Nevada he married JoAnne DeBoyce. For ten years he was a cabinetmaker, then a carpenter for residential and commercial construction, and most recently worked at the University of California, Davis Physical Plant until he retired in 1998. In 2000 he moved from Davis, California to Cave Junction, Oregon.

Bob was a member of the Carpenters Union in Woodland, California.

He volunteered his time with Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity.

His hobbies included fiddling around in his shop, gardening, and playing with his yellow lab “Cody”.

In addition to his wife, JoAnne Nicholson of Cave Junction, Oregon; Bob is survived by a son, Greg Nicholson of Esparto, California; a daughter, Julie Wilson of Woodland, California; three grandchildren, Mathew Nicholson, Jennifer Nicholson, and Heather Ely and two sisters and one brother.

He was preceded in death by his beloved dog, “Cody” in December 2008.
