Bob Gene Murphy, age 75, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial service will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Vitality Center in Grants Pass. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Bob was born November 3, 1936 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Glenn & Gladys Murphy. At the age of seven, he moved with his family from Muskogee to Grants Pass. On May 29, 1982 in Carson City, Nevada he married Janet Ugstad. For 20 years he worked for local plywood mills. Later for 23 years he owned and operated Fish & Chips Tavern.
Bob was a member of the National Rifle Association.
His hobbies included woodworking, cooking, gardening, leatherwork, and playing softball.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Murphy; two sons, Kenneth Murphy and Dennis Murphy; two stepchildren, Brian Ugstad and Diane Merrill all of Grants Pass, Oregon; a sister, Wanda Parsons of Sonora, California; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Barbara Ann Murphy.
