B.J. Brummett

B.J. Brummett passed away February 14, 2013 at the age of 94.

He was born in Childress, Texas March 27, 1918 to Leonard & Lela (Fenner) Brummett. In the late 1930’s his family moved from Childress to Wilmington, California. There he met the love of his life Julia Elizabeth Mabee. They were married in Las Vegas September 1, 1940. He worked for and retired from Shell Oil Company in Wilmington, California. In 1972 he and Julia moved to Grants Pass, Oregon.

B.J. was preceded in death by his parents, his son James Robert, his wife Julia and two sisters Mary Stephens and Helen Rowin.

He is survived by his sister Lela Belle Wolfert of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his daughter Harriet Johnson and son-in-law Dale Johnson of Grants Pass; three grandchildren James Sharver of San Pedro, California, Leanne Sharver Fye of Modesto, California and Carolyn Sharver Curry of Corona, California; and one great-granddaughter Nicole Elizabeth Fye of Modesto.

He loved to bowl and bowled for many years in senior leagues at Showtime Family Lanes.

He will be greatly missed by many but by no one more than his daughter Harriet. He was a really great dad and a very special man.
