Betty M. Standley, age 89, of Bend, Oregon died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Hummingbird Way Adult Foster Care.
A viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013 and from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon, Friday, April 19, 2013 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013 at First Christian Church with Pastor Wes Winn officiating. Private inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
She was born Betty Marie Ford on July 15, 1923 in Portland, Oregon to Cecil & Bessie Ford. She moved with her family to Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon Union High School, class of 1940 where she was active in the Girls Athletic Association lettering in basketball and softball. On October 16, 1941 in Lebanon she married Roy Standley, who died in 1994. For 13 years she was clerk at Glendale Union High School retiring in 1988. After living in Lebanon, she lived in British Columbia before moving to Grants Pass where she lived for 30 years. Nine months ago she moved to Bend.
Betty was a member of First Christian Church and the Betty Club. At church she was a Partner in a service organization benefiting the disabled.
Her hobbies included traveling, playing card games with her friends, and church fellowship.
Survivors include three sons, Roy Arthur Standley Jr and wife Sandy of Seattle, Washington, William Neil Standley and wife Cheryl of Bend, Oregon and James Madison Standley and wife Wendy Ann of Costa Rica; a sister, Ruth Mishler of San Diego, California; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren
