Betty June Place-Fowler

Betty June Place-Fowler, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Fair View Transitional Health Center.

Services will be held at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born January 5, 1930 in Dubuque, Iowa. She moved with her family from Iowa to Grants Pass and she attended Grants Pass High School. On November 20, 1948 in Grants Pass she married Art Place and they later divorced. She lived in Los Angeles, California from 1956 to 1994 when she returned to Grants Pass. For many years she worked for Rath Packing as a meat packer.

Betty attended Parkway Christian Center for many years.

She especially enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Jo Felthoff of Knoxville, Tennessee; two sons, Dale Place of Spokane, Washington and Ricky Place of Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Anita Swank of Glide, Oregon and Elaine Robertson of Grants Pass, Oregon; a brother, Wayne Parkins of Tigard, Oregon; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
