Bette Portnoy Baker, age 89, of Grants Pass, died Friday, October 3, 2014 at Norris Manor, an adult foster home.
Private family services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Bette was born January 4, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois. In 1945 in Chicago, she married Charles Portnoy.
They moved to Southern California and Bette worked for many years at the Woodland Hills Country Club. In 1971 she moved from Southern California to Grants Pass.
Bette’s memberships included The Betty Club, Red Hat Society, The Kennel Club in Grants Pass and Disabled American Veterans Auxillary in the Los Angeles area.
She enjoyed her dogs and horses . Throughout her lifetime she had many dogs including Collies, Old English Sheepdogs, Bichon Friseʹ and King Charles Cavalier Spaniels.
Survivors include three daughters, Evon Webster of Grants Pass; Marcia Abbott of Piedmont, California and Cindy Leathers of Oakland, California and six grandchildren
