Benjamin Dean

Benjamin Dean, age 80, of Grants Pass, died April 30, 2021 at his home.

Ben was born April 24, 1941 in Morton, Washington to James & Roxanna Dean. He grew up in the Cispus area of Washington until age 12 when his family moved to Grants Pass. In June 1959 he graduated from Grants Pass High School. Soon after he started work as a general contractor in residential and commercial construction. He married his high school sweetheart Melinda Dallas on April 15, 1961 and they just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Survivors include his wife Melinda Dean of Grants Pass; four children Josh Dean (Robyn) of Grants Pass, Jody Dean of Grants Pass, Jonell Tague (Mike) of Powell Butte, Oregon and Jason Dean (Lorelei) of Grants Pass; brother Jack Dean of Springfield, Oregon; two sisters Linda Mehl of Albany, Oregon and Patricia Ross of Eugene, Oregon; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers Leroy Dean, Ralph Dean, Jim Dean, Dennis Dean and sister Lorraine Sloan.

Private interment will be at Granite Hill Cemetery.
