Barbara Lynn Powers

Barbara Lynn Powers, age 59, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Fair View Transitional Health Center after a 30-year battle of scleroderma and anticardiolipin disease.

A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Rivers of Life Foursquare church with Pastor Rick Gilmore officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Barbara was born March 27, 1952 in Grants Pass to Malcolm & Betty Robertson. In March 1973 she married Tod Powers. They had two children and later divorced. She worked at Redwood School for over 20 years.

Barbara was a member of the YMCA; the Eagles Lodge where she enjoyed playing bingo; and the Caveman Vintage Car Club.

Her hobbies included camping, volleyball, bingo, dancing, and animals. Her family and grandkids were the highlight of her life.

Survivors include two sons, Jason Powers of San Jose, California and Jeremy Powers of Grants Pass, Oregon; a daughter-in-law, Misty Powers of Grants Pass, Oregon; a sister, Becky Baier of Grants Pass, Oregon; a brother, Mike Robertson of Grants Pass, Oregon; and four grandchildren (one on the way).

She was preceded in death by her father, Malcolm Robertson in 2003; her stepfather, Ray Moon in 2007; and her mother, Betty Moon in 2010.
