Barbara Lee Lyng, age 80, of Medford, died Friday, November 9, 2012 at an adult care home.
Family services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Barbara was born August 15, 1932 in Greeley, Colorado to Ross & Lora Smith. She attended elementary schools in Colorado and after moving to California in 1945 she attended Laguna Beach High School. She met Robert L. Lyng and they were married November 8, 1956. They lived in Ontario, California until 1976 when they moved to Lake Elsinore, California. For 16 years she worked for State Farm Insurance in the Ontario and Claremont offices. In 1990 they moved from California to Oregon and in July 2004 moved to Rogue River.
Upon retirement, Barbara & Robert enjoyed traveling and lived in various Oregon coastal towns.
Barbara was a member of the Good Sam Club, Elks Lodge, and Eagles Lodge.
Her hobbies included arts & crafts work, beadwork and R.V. traveling.
Survivors include her daughter, Marva Lyng-Kotrba of Rogue River, Oregon; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard T. Holmes and her second husband, Robert L. Lyng; two brothers, Harold R. Smith and Lloyd Smith; a son, Tom W. Lyng and a daughter, Sheri Pinnt.
