Barbara Jean Fitch-Baker, age 78, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, August 24, 2013 at her home.

Family services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to Rogue Valley Independent Living or First Christian Church.

Barbara was born March 7, 1935 in Durham, Oklahoma to Bill & Ocie Christian. Barbara was a teacher in Chowchilla, California in her early years. After marrying Varley Steve Fitch, she became a housewife and a loving mother. They moved to Napa and opened a restaurant. After being in the restaurant business for eight years she moved to Cave Junction and purchased a store, a restaurant, and a cabin rental property. After moving to Grants Pass, she met and married Bill Baker, they were married for 20 years. She has lived in Grants Pass for 43 years.

Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening and traveling.

Survivors include her children, Jeffrey Scott Fitch of Lewiston, Idaho, Gregory Allen Fitch of Napa, California, Trisha Denise Fitch of Grants Pass and Stephen Eric Fitch of Coos Bay, Oregon; step-children, Gordon Baker of Tennessee and John Baker of Grants Pass; two sisters, Arla Christian-Dill of Arizona and Billy Christian-Sytsma of Florida; a brother, Robert Christian of California; two grandchildren, William Fitch of Grants Pass and Bradley Fitch of Napa, California.

Preceding her in death were her former husbands, Varley Steve Fitch and Bill Baker and a stepdaughter, Patty Baker.
