AUDREY LOUISE ROACH
Audrey Louise Roach passed away peacefully on April 8, 2022 at her home in Grants Pass, Oregon. Audrey was born to Clarence & Marguerite Schenck on July 16, 1931 in the city of Athol, South Dakota. She had 3 brothers, one of whom tragically died in an accident as a teenager.
Audrey moved to Milaca, Minnesota when she was very young and spent the rest of her childhood on her family's working farm. In 1950 she married Donald Reum and moved to Minneapolis, MN where she had 3 children. In 1961 the family moved to Grants Pass, OR.
In 1972 she married Dale Roach. Audrey & Dale helped form a band called The Swing Timers in which they both sang and played instruments for over 3 decades. In 1974 they moved to Bethel Island, California where they bought and operated a day excursion ship called the Little Audrey. They later settled in Carlsbad, CA where they managed a Townhouse complex for several years. In 1987 they moved to El Cajon where they procured and managed a bar/restaurant, until health reasons forced them to sell. In 1990 they moved to Coos Bay, OR where they opened their own second hand store, and later both worked for the Salvation Army. Audrey worked into her late 70's at McKay's Market. She believed in being a well-rounded person and a hard worker.
Audrey always had great interest in theater, art, and music; following her passions allowed her to paint and sell much of her art, spanning her entire life. She was a member of both the Josephine County & Coos Bay Art Society. She had many dreams that she was able to fulfill in her lifetime. The world will greatly miss her and her many talents.
She is survived by son, David Reum, Daughter Dianne Reum, son Darrel Reum, 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren; all of Grants Pass, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Roach; Brothers; Eldon, Lauren and Delbert.
