Audrey Jean Ferrell

It is with great sadness that the family of Audrey Jean Ferrell announce her passing on December 23, 2018 in Grants Pass, OR at the age of 78 years. She was born in Madera, California on May 10, 1940 and a proud 1958 graduate of Grants Pass High School.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; sons Jerry (Stacy) Ferrell, Terry (Lin) Ferrell, both of Grants Pass, OR, daughters Dawn (Michael) Rodriguez of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Kimberly Campanile (John Michaels), of Pompano Beach, FL, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister Joy Martellaro; 12 nieces/nephews. Jean will also be forever loved and remembered by extended family and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents David Elehugh and Marjorie Edna Reed, as well as her husband of many years, Roger John Ferrell.

Early in her marriage to Roger, she assisted him in running Ferrell Flying Service at Ashland Municipal Airport, where her love of flying began. She completed ground school and took her first solo flight. In November 2018 she was thrilled to take one last flight with her son Jerry, and her Grandson Tom who was the pilot, in a Cessna Skylane.

Jean enjoyed many years working as a secretary at Central Valley High School (WA) and later at Club Limousine (FL). She returned to Oregon to lovingly care for her mother in her final years. Jean remained there until her passing surrounded by loved ones. When her sons were young, she enjoyed being the announcer at their Little League games and volunteering as their Cub Scout leader. This joy was carried forward in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and cheering them on. Her hobbies included knitting stockings and slippers for family and friends, playing bridge and pinochle, testing her luck at the casinos and supporting her Seahawks.

Jean requested that no formal service be held. In lieu of, there will be a small private gathering for family and friends to celebrate her life. The remembrance will be held on January 19, 2019 from 12pm to 3pm at the home of Jerry and Stacy Ferrell, 1111 Luzon Lane, Grants Pass, OR 97527.
