Audrey Cleo Waters, age 90, went home to the Lord peacefully on May 20th, 2013.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15th 2013 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
Audrey requested that no cut flowers be sent and that in-lieu of cut flowers, please plant a flower in your yard or make a donation to an American Indian charity of your choice in her honor.
She was born in Illinois; one of nine children of Archibald and Martha Wilson. While living in Illinois, she met and married her husband of 54 years and they had 13 children. They moved to California in 1962, where they lived in Cupertino for 13 years and then retired to Pine Grove, CA where she lived for 30 years before moving to Grants Pass, OR in 2005.
In addition to raising her children, Audrey worked and volunteered at both the St. Joseph’s Cupertino and Saratoga Catholic parishes’ offices and rectory. She also worked for Kaiser Permanente and Hewlett Packard.
Audrey had many hobbies throughout her life, including cooking, baking, crafting, and sewing. She was proud to say that she had made more than 16 quilts to give to family members.
She is survived by 9 of her children: Gerald Waters, Laura Roberts, David Waters, Susan Kinn, James Waters, Jr., Kathy Waters, Julia Hendricks, Karen Yorba, and Patricia Waters; 3 siblings: Yousuf Wilson, Robert Wilson, and Janet Evans; 16 grand children, 16 great grand children, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband James, daughters Audrey Anne Waters and Mary Minchey, sons Raymond Waters and Joseph Waters, grandson Gerald Waters, Jr ., granddaughter Denise Waters and 6 of her siblings.
Audrey’s own statements for this obituary were: “God has been very good to me. I worked hard but I loved it. I’ve had a wonderful life”
