Arnold G. Stohlman, Jr.

Arnold G. Stohlman, age 94, of Cave Junction, died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

Arnold was born August 10, 1921 in Los Angeles, California to Arnold & Gail Stohlman. On July 1, 1942, he joined the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged, he worked for the telephone company until the late 1950’s and later he worked as a maintenance manager. He met his future wife, Dorothy Mashburn while ballroom dancing and on November 7, 1943 they were married. In the late 70’s, he moved to Cave Junction and retired.

Arnold enjoyed gaming at local casinos and watching sports on TV, including football and car racing. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Marcia Stohlman-Wellen and husband, John and a son, Doug Stohlman and wife, Linda all of Cave Junction; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Stohlman on June 25, 2009 and his son, Dr. Stephen Stohlman in 2015.

No services are planned. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
