Anthony (Tony) Lentini, 89, was welcomed into Heaven on Feb. 28, 2023.
Tony was born in Boston on Aug. 14, 1933. He is survived by Maxine, his loving wife of nearly 68 years, and four children: Carmela of Idaho, Jane of Grants Pass, Steven of Spokane, and Richard of Seattle, as well as their spouses whom he loved like his own kids. Nine grandchildren and 14 great grands round out his adoring family. An older sister and her family on the east coast are his survivors also.
Tony joined the Navy in 1951 and was eventually stationed in Coronado, CA, where he met his wife, Maxine, who was also enlisted in the Navy. He served aboard a Coast Guard Cutter in the Bering Sea during the Korean War.
Upon discharge, Tony became a meteorologist with the National Weather Service and the Lentinis moved to Oregon in 1971. He retired in 1988 with over 27 years of service.
Tony was active in the Rogue River community. He attended Rogue Valley Community Church for many years, was a basketball referee, baseball umpire, and coached his sons in youth baseball. Performing was his passion: he was active in Barnstormers Theater and was a founder of Old Time Radio in GP. Tony loved people and was truly loved by those he came in contact with.
Tony loved camping and fishing, making homemade pizza, and being with his ever-growing family .He loved to break out in song and had a song for every situation. He adored his family and was adored by them. He leaves a legacy of a loving, giving heart, and many wonderful memories. We love you, Papa!
