Tony Guillory passed away October 8th at his home in Grants Pass, Oregon.
Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1940, he was the oldest of 12 children. Tony came to San Francisco at the age of 4. At age 18, he joined the Marine Corps.
Tony married Celeste Jaymot in 1963. After his discharge from the Corps, he worked as a gardener for the city of Daly City, drove for Gray Line Tour Bus Company, was a deputy sheriff for 25 years for the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, and a bailiff for the U.S. Marshall's Office in San Francisco.
After moving to Grants Pass in 1997, he joined the Marine Corps League and for over 20 years held many positions within that organization. Tony helped organize the Rogue Valley Young Marines in 1999 and was unit commander, regiment commander, and was also appointed to the board of directors of the Young Marines.
Tony enjoyed trips with his brother, Louis, and listening to Cajun music at all times.
He was the father of 5 children: Katie, Michael, Vincent, Dominic, and Angela who passed away in 1992. Tony was a grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Eagle Point National Cemetery on Wednesday October 17th at 1 pm followed by refreshments at 3 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1969 Williams Highway, Grants Pass.
