Amber Lynn Koonce, age 74, of Grants Pass, died April 5, 2024 at her friend’s home.
Amber was born March 20, 1950 in San Luis Obispo, California. In 1968 she graduated from San Luis Obispo High School where she was a majorette. She then attended beauty college, manicure school, Arizona Western College in Yuma, Arizona and Rogue Community College in Grants Pass. Over the years she owned several businesses. She also was acting director of a museum/art gallery.
Amber was an avid outdoorswoman and enjoyed hunting, camping, hiking, farming, ranching, riding horses, riding dirt bikes, and skeet shooting. She also flew helicopters, and enjoyed cooking and baking from scratch. On the farm, she operated a D-8 cat, swather, raker, and bailer.
She raised a son, a daughter, and a grandson and supported all their activities.
Survivors include her grandchildren Jacquelyn King, Shanna’Le Orton, Shyanna Ashworth, Danny Terry, and Myra Bush; three great-grandchildren; sisters Tinker Akers, Sherri Salvejo, and Candie Nunez; and brother Bobby Nunez.
She was preceded in death by daughter Lianna Lynn Easter; son Brian Dale Terry; husband Daniel Towne; and sister Cindy Sotelo.
A celebration of life will be at 10:00 a.m., May 18, 2024 at Edgewater Christian Fellowship (chapel), 101 Assembly Circle, Grants Pass.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Edgewater Christian Fellowship to benefit the RCA Building Fund.
