Amanda Storme Reyes

Amanda Storme Reyes, age 18, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009.

A funeral mass will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Monsignor Gregory Moys officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Amanda was born April 12, 1991 in Torrance, California and at age 1 she moved to Grants Pass with her mother. She attended preschool at Head Start, Kindergarten through 8th grade at St. Anne Catholic School, grades 9 and 10 at Grants Pass High School, and 11th grade at North Valley High School where she had just started her senior year. Amanda was a member of the school’s Link Crew, a group of upperclassmen who help freshman adjust to high school life.

She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and was involved with choir and basketball. From ages 6 to 14 she attended the Boys & Girls Club.

Amanda was very involved in competitive cheer squads and high school cheerleading. She was a cheerleader while attending Grants Pass High School and was currently a varsity cheerleader at North Valley High School. For the last five years she participated on an All Star Cheer Squad; four years at Grants Pass Extreem Team at Unlimited Sports Center; and last season at TNT Team at Cheer Zone in Medford. Her other hobbies included reading Animae Japanese Comics and self-defense martial arts. She had recently become interested in becoming a pastry chef. Several weeks ago she bought a new black lab puppy that she named “Roo Bear” and had two ducks named “Peeps” and “Sorra.”

She is survived by her mother, Kathie Holloway and her uncle Eddy Stiffler both of Grants Pass.
