Allis Lorene Collins, age 96, of Grants Pass, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Spring Pointe.
A viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2012 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Mark Skudstad officiating.
Remembrances may be made to a local Alzheimer’s Association.
Allis was born February 27, 1916 in Oakland, California and grew up in both Oakland and Petaluma. She was doing secretarial work for UPS where she met, William G. Collins and they were married September 28, 1952 in St. Helena, California. After her second daughter was born, she enjoyed homemaking and volunteer work. In 1978 she moved from Lafayette, California to Grants Pass.
Allis volunteered at the Oakland California Museum.
Her hobbies included painting, drawing, traveling and reading. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Janille Gooch and Janette O’Neill both of Grants Pass, Oregon; a brother, Harry Lee Liebhauser of Forbestown, California; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Collins; and a sister, Elva Helwig.
