Allen S. “Tubbs” Madden, age 81, of Cave Junction, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at his home.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Selma Baptist Church with Pastor Monty Pope officiating. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Allen was born November 7, 1930 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Charles & Anna Madden. At the age of six, he moved with his family to Grants Pass where he was raised and attended schools. On November 12, 1966 in Reno, Nevada he married his wife, Norma. He was a logger working for various companies during his 50 years in the lumber industry and in 1996 retired from Rough and Ready Lumber Company in Cave Junction. For 43 years he lived in the Selma/Cave Junction area.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, organizing family reunions, and playing horseshoes.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Madden of Cave Junction, Oregon; a son, Bill Madden of Rogue River, Oregon; two daughters, Kathi Teese and Ginnie Madden both of Central Point, Oregon; two brothers, Fred Madden of McMinnville, Oregon and Jim Madden of Kerby, Oregon; and two sisters, Margaret Havey of Central Point, Oregon and Nellie Patton of New York; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
