Albert “Al” Alcock, age 80, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Kinsington at Redwood Park.
Al was born November 5, 1935 in Fallon, Nevada to Walt & Addie Alcock. The family moved from Hawthorne, Nevada to Grants Pass in 1947 and in 1954 Al graduated from Grants Pass High School. He retired after 37 years with cable television.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter; a volunteer firefighter; and a lifelong NRA member. He loved camping and hunting in Eastern Oregon with family.
Al is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jackie Alcock; two daughters, Suzi (Jeff) Barber and Debi Ogden all of Grants Pass; three sons, Rick (Arlene) Alcock of Las Vegas, Lonnie (Corby) Alcock of Park City, Utah and Mike Alcock of Grants Pass; a brother, Charles (Georgianne) Alcock of Grants Pass; a sister, Patty (Mike) Rose of Grants Pass; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life and potluck for Al will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Jerome Prairie Grange Hall. Family and friends are invited to attend and help celebrate the memory of our loved one.
