Alan Eugene Roberts

Alan Eugene Roberts, age 62, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at his home.

A private family celebration of his life is planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Alan was born June 27, 1950 in Texarkana, Arkansas and the family moved to Grants Pass when he was two years old. He graduated from Grants Pass High School and worked in plywood mills all his life.

Alan was a 49ers fan all his life and was so happy when they made it to the Super Bowl this year. He learned how to play guitar from his father, Dolen Roberts, and played in a band called the Intones when he was a teenager and continued to play all his life. Alan enjoyed cooking, barbequing, lightning storms, the outdoors and going out to dinner. He enjoyed being retired and not having to punch a time clock. He always said you need to have humor in your life. Alan enjoyed his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Pam, his mother Grace Roberts; a sister Sharon and husband Terry Isabell, all of Grants Pass, Oregon; a brother Randy and wife Sherry Roberts from Cave Junction, Oregon; a sister-in-law Marsha Dennis from Grants Pass, Oregon; four children - three boys and one girl, son Eric and wife Diana from Forest Grove, Oregon, daughter, Sara and husband David Gallersrud from Kirkland, Washington, son Craig and his wife Viktoria 'Vita' Roberts from Snohomish, Washington and son Trevor Roberts from Kirkland, Washington; a stepson, John Hamilton and his wife Jessica from Menifee, California; grandchildren, Alex Gallersrud, Charlie, Blake and Elijah Roberts from Washington and Katie Roberts from Oregon and Andrea and Calvin Roberts; step-grandchildren, Steven and Ethan Hamilton from California; nephew Chris and wife Jodie Isabell from Oregon and their children, Everett, Eddie, Emma, Ellie Beth, and nephew Jeremy and wife Sara Isabell from Oregon and their children, Cy, Olivia and Reese; a niece Rachel and Ryan Brown from Oregon.
